Description

What's so interesting about group breathwork is that the practice itself, and even the implementation of it in a group setting, is deeply personal. It's guided *self*-healing. That said, there's comfort in knowing you're on the journey with other like-minded (or really, like-hearted) people, and inevitably, you hear someone share part of your story when we all check in during the beginning portion of the session. Then, without realizing it, the journey of someone close by while you're breathing bolsters your own journey, and the self-healing becomes even more powerful as community seeps in.

What can breathwork accomplish?

The breathwork practice itself guides you to your true self in a really grounding way, and it pushes through the over-analysis and self-criticism that often traps you. As a breathwork session kicks into high gear, your body, not your mind, leads the way, and you can gain clarity, release trapped pain and trauma in the body, and generally feel less burdened.

What's breathwork?

It's a three-part breath with two inhales and one exhale, repeated rhythmically. You perform it lying down, and it's a much more active form of meditation.

What's it look like to do breathwork at an event like this?

  • Since you're going to be in a group, the open, loving community helps provide support and encourage fearlessness on your part.

  • We'll meet up, start the session with a time of grounding and chatting and getting everyone on the same energetic page.

  • Then you'll lie down, and I'll lead you through the active part of the breathwork where you'll do that two-part breath for an extended period of time. I'll help guide you and try to hold things steady for anything that may come up.

  • After that, you'll get to enjoy a still, quiet, restful meditation.

What's the result?

Like everything, it's best to show up and just be in the process and leave the results to the universe. That said, as you get further into the breathwork session, your mind gives way to your body. You often feel physical sensations that are of a higher vibration. That moves energy internally so that you can let go of the mental chatter way more easily than just walking around thinking.

And it's that bit of open space that brings a feeling of lightness, a feeling of connection, and often clarity about things you're seeking.
